About Upper Darby Hindu Temple - Sree Sree Sanatan Shangho

Background of the Temple:

Sree Sree Sanatan Shangho is the first Hindu Temple in the Upper Darby, PA area. It has a long history before the Temple physically exist. The Bangladeshi community is the initiator of this temple. They had taken this initiative around 20 years ago. In the beginning, they were getting together at one of their member's houses and discussed the future of the Temple as well as how they can organize the next religious occasions. They had a very long-term plan to get a location in the Upper Darby for Temple and succeed in their initiatives with the help of all Hindu people living around the area. At that time, as they did not have a fixed location or any Temple spatially exist, so, they were performing all the religious ceremonies at different places like renting an auditorium for one day or a couple of days. At the same time, they had been started collecting amounts for establishing a Temple as well as managing the cost of the ceremony. The venerable member has tried a lot and created a partially strong committee to succeed in their vision. 


In the end, all their initiatives inspired the young members. Then the venerable and young members collectively brought a place to perform their religious activities and the Bangladesh community get success by establishing this Temple that drives by their initial initiatives. They know that they have a long way to go because there are a lot of things that still need to be organized to make the initiatives perfectly successful.  


 Currently, the community people trying to organize all the religious activities as they come through by the Bengali Panjika. All the coming activities will be shown on the top of the page just above the "The Background of the Temple" title including time, duration, and much other important information about the activities. We like you to check our website often to see the coming activities. We also organize some yearly fun activities like Picnic, barbecue (BBQ) Party, etc. that also be listed on the top of the page as it already mentioned above.

     The community people trying their best to make an organized, wealthy Committee that can help them to success their future vision. So, they are asking the Hindu pious around the Upper Darby as well as outside area to come to join with them. They are looking for a large place to establish the Temple close or around the area with a big parking lot that they can accommodate more pious at the same time and they can perform the regular Worship and all other religious activities. As the community people are the only source to meet all the financial needs for the Temple, and they are putting small amount at their level best it's getting harder for the committee to organized everything as fast they want. Therefore, they are appreciating new people to join and make your religious podded and giving them a chance to provide you a best service. For more information about the Temple, Please contact.
